College Students

Welcome

We desire to be a place of gospel rest and processing for students amidst the pressures of college life—academic, relational, intellectual, spiritual, etc. The gospel speaks into our entire beings, bringing rest and restoration into broken places. Grace & Peace is a church family where lives and struggles are shared together in community, and you are invited into it! There is a place for you here and we look forward to knowing you during your time in Greenville. If you’ve ever asked yourself, “I’m only in Greenville for the fall and spring semesters each year, is it even worth it to get involved in a church?” We wholeheartedly believe the answer is YES.

PRICE, CLASS OF 2021

“Being a part of the local church is a great way to get outside the [college] bubble and… come to worship regularly… it will be a blessing to you. It has certainly shaped the way I think of Christian community now in my post-college years.”

FROM HELEN, CLASS OF 2019

My time at Grace & Peace was marked by hospitality and care. I came to G&P as a college sophomore, in the fall of 2016, when the first worship services were held in the gym at Frazee. For the next three years, I watched G&P grow, move into a new building, and seek to live out her mission in Greenville. It was a formative experience for me, as a college student, to be involved in a church as it was being planted. Through watching the church planting process, I learned that G&P hoped to be a church that was honest, openly sharing the mess of life with one another, and hospitable to the outsider. My time at G&P gave me a vision for how the local church can be engaging and centered on the transformative power of Christ’s love in our lives.

My second year at G&P, I joined a neighborhood group that met each Sunday evening. This weekly time of fellowship and connection quickly became an anchor in my week and a cherished part of my college years. We shared meals, studied scripture, prayed, laughed, sang, grieved, and celebrated together. This group generously invited me into their lives, and they readily invested in mine. I left their homes each week feeling restored and grateful. One of my favorite neighborhood group memories is when we all met at Furman one Sunday night, picked up dinner in the dining hall, and shared a picnic by the lake. That memory captures the essence of this group: people regularly gathering together to know each other more deeply, share needs and walk closely in each other’s real life. My friendships from this group extended beyond Sunday nights, and I love staying in touch with many of them now, several years after I graduated and moved out of town. I am deeply grateful for the ways this group welcomed me, cared for me, and shared their lives with me.

Grace & Peace was more than a church I attended each week while I was in college. This community continuously invited me to wonder at the eternal work of God in the world and in my life and sent me into my post-college years compelled to know this more.

Stay Connected

  • The Weekly Update

    • The Weekly Update is our primary information channel. It’s an email that goes out on Wednesday of each week, including registrations, announcements, sign-ups, community events, and more.

  • Neighborhood Groups

    • NGs are the heart and soul of Grace & Peace. These groups are where we get to know each other more deeply, share needs, study the Scripture in greater depth, and pray for one another.

    • If you attend G&P regularly, then we urge you to not let this be pushed to the sidelines. The first step is simply to look at the map (and list) of groups on our website and find the one that is closest to where you live. If the time works for you, then reach out to the host before showing up — many groups share meals together, and it’s good for them to know if extra people will be there on a particular night.

    • If you are already involved in a small group on campus, with RUF for example, then we understand that you may not have the margin for a G&P Neighborhood Group. But know that you are always welcome!

  • Different Events Throughout the Year

    • Throughout the year we have various opportunities for you to get involved, be known, know others, and serve—things like Women's Brunches, Men's Retreats, Coffee for Three (a group coffee hang with three new people!) helping decorate for Advent, hosting pumpkin painting parties for neighborhood kids, and more!

    • Check out our current signups to see what’s coming up soon.
