We are excited to announce that this fall we'll begin classes for children from kindergarten to fifth grade. These classes will focus on teaching our kids the essential truths of our faith and Scripture by using the New City Catechism.
If you're unfamiliar with a catechism, it is an enduring practice in the church that helps us to understand our faith in a question and answer format. This particular catechism was expressly crafted for children, to help them form a structure in their hearts and minds for some of the deepest and most beautiful questions that we all ask.
We recommend children from kindergarten to second grade attend class prior to the worship service and those in third through fifth grade attend after the service. Classes will be taught according to these ages. However, if your family has children in both age groups, feel free to select one class to attend together.
Classes this fall will begin on September 9th, and we'll have 8 classes total.
We will continue to roll out more details, but in the meantime, if you'd like to learn more about the catechism, please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the curriculum by exploring the website here.
Lessons and memory work for each class will be planned according to our grade recommendations. But, please feel free to choose one class if you have children in both classes.
